Ryan and his friends have decided to go to Sophomore Banquet, Junior Prom and Senior Prom, since this is their last chance. He bought a Sophomore Banquet ticket from a friend who wasn't going to bring a date so that he could go (and was one of many seniors who did so, go figure). His "date" was his friend Jamie, also a senior (I hijacked this photo off his Facebook page, thanks Jamie!). "Date" is in quotes because once they were in the gym, they each went to hang out with their own friends.
He said he enjoyed this Sophomore Banquet more than his own. Maybe no pressure from having a real date that he had to pay attention to; he could just enjoy being with his friends. Being girlfriend-less his senior year has been good so far...focusing on school, this year he's had the highest grades he's had all 4 years of high school. He's also working four days now, saving up money for living on his own when he starts college. And he's been spending quality time with his friends, who sometimes got ignored when he had girlfriends. Since it's the last time they'll all be together, it's great that they are doing things together.
