november recap via facebook ~ part 1

Nov 1:  I stayed in bed a little longer hoping to continue the sweet dream I was having of carrying my son when he was about two or three, smelling his hair with his head on my shoulder...then the alarm went off again and it's back to reality.

Nov. 3:  12+ hours at work...nice to come home to home cooking ~ corn chowder and chili, yum!

Nov. 6:  Went to help "band-sit" the Kamehameha band at Mililani High School for the Kamehameha/Mililani "Festival of Bands" (combination of KS's Tournament of Bands and Mililani's Bandfest).  Kamehameha was unable to have the annual tournament on campus this year due to continued construction so they decided to combine resources with Mililani Band to host the tournament.  The band debuted their new look this year - black bands instead of the white and the white helmets were painted black.  Only 4 tubas this year...a little weird not to see "my tuba" on the line.  Didn't get to see the show at Mililani but came home to watch it on OC-16.

Nov. 6:  Gee, thanks Panda! (fortune from Panda Express fortune cookie)

Nov. 9:  Oh no the big Santa is up at Ala Moana already!

Nov 10:  Thought my days of sitting in the rain at band tournaments were over...and then here I am.  (Written from the University of Hawaii Rainbow Invitational at Aloha Stadium, sitting in the orange section in the steady rain.)  Only there to watch Ryan and the UH Band perform.  Awesome job, UH Band!

Nov. 11:  Dragging my tired self out of bed early this morning has its advantages...just heard there will be rolling highway shutdowns beginning at 8 am.  (Russian president arrival for APEC)

Nov. 11:  Steak dip sandwich and garlic fries from HI Steaks (in Food Pantry)...special treat since I'm home alone tonight (Darrell on Molokai for a wedding).

Nov. 12:  Now that there's a $15 luggage charge on Island Air, here's how you have to bring back Molokai bread, in the suitcase with the clothes.
