Happy Anniversary!

Happy 19th anniversary to us! We got married at the former Sheraton Moana Surfrider (now The Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort), the first wedding in the newly restored Grand Salon (now The Beach House steak restaurant) off the Banyan Veranda. Our reception was at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani across the street; where the ballroom was is now the Doctors on Call clinic. We had a beautiful wedding and fun reception, surrounded by friends and family.

Some details:
  • My Aunty Setsu sewed my wedding gown and bridesmaids' dresses.
  • I walked down the aisle to "Trumpet Voluntary," music Princess Diana had at her wedding!
  • Lavender was our color...I had been in two previous weddings (Karen and Bev) and both of their colors were pink, so I wanted to be different.
  • Our wedding party consisted of my sister Jan as maid of honor and Darrell's friend Boboy as best man, my friends Susie and Karen as bridesmaids and Darrell's cousin David and his friend Galen as groomsmen.
  • My friend Debbie and Karen's husband Neal were our MCs.
  • Our niece Ipo was a junior bridesmaid and her sister Ehu was the flower girl. The photographer kept calling Ehu "Uhu" and she got so mad!

We went to Ruby Tuesday's at Windward Mall for dinner with Ryan. We go there a few times a month so it wasn't a real celebration, but hopefully we'll do something special next year for our 20th. This is what I had, Chicken Bella, "slices of sautéed baby portabella mushrooms and artichokes in Parmesan cream sauce over a fresh, grilled chicken breast. Served with fresh, steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes." Yummy!
