Ryan, Ka'ala, Joel and John volunteered to make breakfast for Saturday (all the kids were assigned to do a meal). Not quite trusting that they had everything under control, Darrell and I went up early that morning to see if they needed help. They did wind up needing more meat, but they did a great job cooking 3 dozen eggs, 3 Portugese sausages, 3 cans of spam, and rice. The group of 19 (less 4 who were busy getting ready for an activity and missed out on eating) wiped out the food, which included cereal and donuts.
I spent the rest of the day in a planning meeting with the band booster club executive board, going over the schedule for the year. Thought it might take 2-3 hours to meet, but it wound up taking 8. But we have a great board and we are all committed to making this the best year for all of our kids, especially our seniors.
Trying to finish up the job I did for the past two years (treasurer) and get ready for my new role as corresponding secretary...and there's another planning meeting all day this coming Saturday for the entire booster club board. Then Band Camp is from July 24-31. School starts August 11, followed by field show practices, football games, lots of meetings, a busy marching/tournament season. Hang on, here we go!
