Took this screen shot one day a while back because whenever he texts me, Ryan calls me "ma" or "mama." He never calls me that when speaking. It's usually just "mom."
When he was a baby, he called me "Mom-ma," with two distinct syllables. Grandma was "Um-ma," again with two distinct syllables.
I still remember the day he called me "Mommy." I picked him up from Aunty Maddy's (babysitter) and he called me that. "Mom-ma" was gone for good.
And even "Mommy" didn't last long. I am just "Mom" now.
I kind of like "Mama." I'm a huge fan of Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman (blog, TV show, and even read her latest cookbook and autobiography). Love how the kids and even her husband call her "Mama." I guess I'll take Ryan calling me "Mama" too.
