Guess Whose Kid is Employee of the Month?

MINE! Yes, Ryan was named "Outstanding Team Member of the Month" at his job at the zoo! He was so excited he called as soon as he found out today. In addition to the recognition, he got a $50 cash bonus, which he was REALLY happy about! They apparently had a "secret shopper" checking out the concession and the employees. Ryan passed the evaluation with flying colors; the shopper said Ryan was very helpful and knowledgeable. Ry said he remembers the guy...he asked about the chili so Ryan told him, no, it's not canned (even though it is, so he can make the sale!) and gave him some detailed info about what was in it. He accurately gave instructions to the lemonade stand and other beverages that were available. Way to go, Babe! He's been thinking of quitting because he has to work really hard for his $7.50 an hour, and with school starting, he's got band practice, football games, Haley, Sin to Society, not to mention, SCHOOL. But hopefully he can still keep working, even if it's only on Sundays. It's been an invaluable experience for him, a taste of the "real world." He's working with a few recovering drug addicts who lost everything and are starting over; they've told him to study hard, go to college and not to mess up like they did, not to wind up working for minimum wage at 40+ years of age. And his bosses are great, they really take care of him.
