current events

Stayed up late the night of April 28 to watch the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.  So exciting!  There are Princes William and Harry heading to the church!  There's Prince Charles and Camilla!  OMG, Princess Beatrice's (or is it Eugenie?) hat is hilarious!  Is Kate going to be getting into that car and will we get a glimpse of her dress?!  Ooh, she looks so beautiful!  The prince looks so happy!

Too funny, had to laugh at myself, watching all by myself and taking pictures of the TV coverage and posting on Facebook!

Lots of people here mostly taped it and watched it later. But something about watching history unfold and being a part of it as it happened was special.

Stayed up late 30 years ago to watch Prince Charles and Lady Diana's wedding too.  That was so exciting too, since it was on my birthday :)  And Diana was my age too.  I was such an admirer...I even walked down the aisle to "Trumpet Voluntary," which was Princess Diana's processional.  (Since this was before the age of internet and google, I had to go look for a book about her and the wedding in order to get this information!)

Then on Sunday, there was news that Osama Bin Laden was dead.  Not exactly happy news, even if he was evil.  But hopefully this will put an end to his insanity and hatred, and not lead to retaliation which will endanger even more lives.
