family gathering

Mom had not wanted a funeral service but we wanted to hold a family gathering so our family could see Dad, since her passing had come as such a shock to everyone.  We were able to book Natsunoya Teahouse for a luncheon and almost everyone was able to come.

I put together a display of photos of Mom.  There were so few photos of her when she was younger, but we were able to find a few.  Jan put together goodie bags with items Mom made and some of her favorite snacks (Japanese jelly candy, mini mochi and green tea KitKit bars).  And thank goodness for panoramic iPhone capabilities; we were able to get a family photo.

It was so great to see everyone; wish that Mom could have been there to see how much she was admired and loved.
