woo hoo, tuba section leader in the house!

Band Banquet this year was at Hale Ikena at Fort Shafter.  It almost didn't happen...the seniors who were supposed to be planning it were so busy with senior year stuff.  We parents and board members were busy with preparation for the trip as well as the regular band stuff and had discussed not having a banquet since the kids hadn't done anything to plan for it.

But the kids really wanted it and it came together, and I'm glad it did. Everyone seemed to have fun.  It felt more relaxed somehow than last year, and ended on a good note, with Ryan (and fellow junior tuba) Shane being selected as section leaders.  It's something they've been looking forward to since starting band freshman year, so I'm glad for them.  They'll do a great job.

These are the ladies I've spent two years with, working for the benefit of the band and our kids.  It's been challenging, but to our credit, it's been pretty transparent to the kids.  President Germaine, VP Davilynne, Corresponding Secretary Laurie, Recording Secretary Kim, you are the best!  Thank you so much for all that you do!
