Apparently the most popular gift this past Christmas was the "selfie stick," which allows us narcissistic people to take photos of ourselves more easily so we can post them on social media.
Jan let me use her selfie stick and these are the resulting photos. First ever selfie with the pole with Jan and Craig (and Craig holding the remote, which operates with Bluetooth to the phone and is pretty cool).

It would have actually come in really handy when we went on our last trip because there's usually only photos of Darrell by himself and hardly any of me because he doesn't like to take pictures. Or selfies where I am HUGE because I am holding the phone and my arm is short, making the camera really close to me!

Joining us this year were Derek's friend Joe and Aunty Dot's cousin Jackie (which I guess means she is our cousin too, but second cousin, first cousin once/twice removed?).

It was a quiet new year's day but fun to wake up and watch the Rose Parade and the Maui High School Band marching and then watching local boy Marcus Mariota and the Oregon Ducks win the Rose Bowl!
Hopefully 2015 will be a better year for all of us!
