Busy Times

Trying to multi-task right now...uploading video from my camcorder to my laptop so I can clear space on the hard drive, blogging while I'm waiting, trying to plan out what we need to do today and how to do it.

It's Saturday and right now Darrell, Ryan and his friend Kaala are sleeping, but soon we'll need to get everyone up to start on the day:
  • Make sure everything that needs to be charged is charged...cellphones, camcorder battery, camera battery
  • Have breakfast and pack what they need for today
  • Go to Windward Mall to buy a personalized hat for Ryan's tuba section leader Briar, whose graduation party they will be attending.
  • Pick up a fellow tuba player Shane at Band Camp at school (pulled Ryan out last night because he and Kaala needed to practice for their gig)
  • Drop the boys off at Dole Ballrooms for the grad party
  • Buy a tripod for the camcorder, and maybe an extra battery
  • Buy snacks to donate to the band, maybe drop them off if there's time
  • Take the boys to Keali'i's house in Ewa so they can practice again and get ready for the gig tonight
  • Come home and rest
  • Head on back to Ewa to get there by 4 pm to load up the instruments, amps, other equipment, boys
  • Go to the water park and set up for the gig
  • Sound checks, positioning, etc.
  • Wait until 8:30 pm for their part of the show ~ Sin to Society is performing at the joint graduation party for four kids, in front of 1,000 guests!
  • Have a great time!

Last night they practiced all together for only the second time in over a month (first time was on Wednesday). Though they started off a little shaky, they got it together and were AWESOME! Blew us away, all the aunties and uncles, grandmas and grandpa sitting in the backyard listening to them. Huge improvement over their last gig and all the practices we've watched so far. Can't wait to see them tonight!
