Happy Birthday to Me

My co-workers took me to the Pineapple Room at Macy's Ala Moana for lunch...great food and great company.

Lots of calls, emails, cards today to wish me a happy birthday...so nice to be remembered.

So funny that my two guys didn't remember at all...I had told Darrell in the morning that I needed to bring my car today (we try to carpool most days) because my staff was going to take me to lunch and I needed my car. He called me later in the afternoon to ask me how lunch was and why they took me out. When I told him it was my birthday, he just laughed, he couldn't believe he totally forgot! He called Ryan right away and tried to see if he remembered, but he didn't remember either. Oh, well...we wound up at Sumo Ramen for dinner tonight because my favorite Food Company in Keolu was closed. No big deal...it's just relaxing to watch TV and blog tonight, after the busy weekend we had.

Got everything done that I listed on the last entry Saturday morning, except for picking up band snacks. We decided to go buy Ryan's new school uniforms since we were in the area, and were going to go to Costco for the snacks but it was so hot and crowded in the Costco parking lot, we decided to go get lunch instead. Just when we sat down inside of Zippy's, Ryan called to say they were done with the party, so we picked up the boys and were off to Ewa again. Dropped them off, headed back home for a short nap, then back to Ewa and the water park gig. Got home that night late, but it was a good day.

Was able to sleep in a little on Sunday, before we went out for lunch with Aunty Shige, Aunty Dot, Jan & Craig at PF Chang's. Had not heard great things about it, but we liked it. As long as you're not expecting local-style Chinese food, you won't be disappointed...food had good flavor. And we bought Ryan's school supplies; he starts school August 13.

Poor Darrell had to work Sunday morning, joined us for lunch, then went back to work. When he got home, he rested a bit, then we went to see "The Dark Knight," the latest Batman movie with Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger as The Joker. A lot longer than I expected, but very absorbing, worth seeing and maybe worth seeing again.
