Nah, didn't actually go to Haleakala, though we did head up that road VERY EARLY in the morning to the campus at Pukalani to help with breakfast.
Here's a photo of the kids singing the Doxology before the meal in the courtyard. Love hearing the kids sing the prayer because they all sing in parts and the harmony is so beautiful.
Watched the kids practice at the KS Maui stadium...what a view! There was a cross-country meet at the school that started at the stadium, so the band performed for the runners to cheer them on.
Borrowed a son (previously blogged-about Tuba Fan Alec) to take a picture with the scoreboard (since my son was otherwise engaged with practicing).
Took a few photos of the campus since this would be the last time we would see it before we left Maui. Here's a mural of the demigod Maui capturing the sun.
Here's a photo of the Tuba Fan with his mom Jane, who is the band's "Uniform Mom, " in charge of all of the band's uniforms~ inventory, issuing, maintaining, cleaning, mending, altering. Such a huge job...we are all so grateful for her hard work.
