KS Band Maui Tour - Day 3, Part II

Went to Komoda Bakery in Makawao with Jane and Alec to pick up our cream puff order - vanilla and chocolate. We took the photo in front of the store...we have an identical pose from when we went to Maui on our honeymoon. Gotta find it and scan it for comparison purposes, then and now, 19 years later!

The cream puffs were good, but Liliha Bakery cocopuffs are pretty great too. Not sure what the fuss is all about. An article said that they make 500 dozen creampuffs every day and always sell out. We bought a bunch, along with butter rolls and cookies!

Here are Darrell and Alec in front of a boutique called "Pink by Nature." They hung out here and ate cream puffs while Jane and I walked around, checking out the stores. Makawao is a little like Haleiwa or Hanapepe or Hanalei, with boutique-y type shops, some New Age stuff.

After this, we headed back to Kahului and the Kaahumanu Mall, where the kids were roaming around. We got food at the food court and bumped into Darrell's cousins Donna Ann who lives in Makawao and Raymond and his daughter who live on Molokai.

Walked around the mall a bit, but it was so hot, we just decided to go back to the hotel and rest. That's one thing we noticed the whole stay...it was so hot on Maui. Thought it would be cool at least in Pukalani, but it was only cool very late at night and very early in the morning. Kahului was hot all the time.
