I was invited to join the Outrigger Beachfront Hotels management team at the soft opening of the brand-new Kani Ka Pila Grille at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. It was originally supposed to be a pool bar, but due to the vision of our VP Kimberly Agas (ok, not "our" anymore, "their" - sniff, sniff), it will be a special gathering place, for friends to share pupu and drinks and listen to local music.
On this night, Kaukahi was there to perform and there are plans for nightly entertainment, including Cyril Pahinui, Weldon Kekuoha, Kawika Kahiapo and Martin Pahinui, Kaukahi, Manoa DNA, Kimo Kahoano and son Kamuela Kahoano.
The best part of the gathering was getting to see my old friends again!
We also bid farewell to another member of the team, Joanna, who is moving to Texas.
